Lucuma Power Super Balls Recipe

I love finding ways of adding superfoods into my diet and often find people are unsure how to use lucuma powder and other superfoods that they may have heard of and seen but have never attempted to incorporate into a dish or recipe.

For this post I decided to find ways to add lucuma because it is rich in antioxidants, beta-carotene and is an excellent source of fibre.


So here is my recipe for Lucuma Power Balls

  • 1 cup Cashew Whole Nuts
  • 1/4 cup  lucuma Powder
  • 1 cup Medjool dates, pits removed
  • 1/2 cup raw chocolate, chopped into fine chunks or  Cacao nibs
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 Tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup dessicated coconut


  • In a food processor, grind the cashews into a coarse “flour.”
  •  Add the lucuma, dates, vanilla and sea salt, and process until you achieve  a dough like mixture.You may need to add a little water to get the mixture to stick together..
  • When you have desired texture put in a mixing bowl and stir in raw chocolate chunks or cacao nibs.
  • Then sprinkle dessicated coconut on your work surface.
  • Make the dough mixture into evenly sized balls and roll in coconut.
  • Then place in an airtight container and (keep in the fridge if using raw chocolate)

Some other ways that you can incorporate lucuma is by adding it to smoothies, yogurt and one of my favourite ways to incorporate is to add when I make raw chocolate.

There are so many ways you can use lucuma you just need a little creativity and you can enjoy this superfood everyday.
